Why I sit on the front row

So church can be somewhat uncomfortable for most of us, wither you are coming for your first time or your thousandth. In the beginning you may choose to sit by people you know that way you do not feel as stupid as you feel but as time goes on you think I do not like all this decision making on my Sabbath Day. Always having to pick who I am going to sit by and if so and so might get mad if I don't sit by them. Well you know this is a lot of pressure for someone who just wants to worship Jesus. So I am writing a top ten list of why I sit on the front row.

Top Ten
1.You can get communion before any one else. ( no germs)
2.You are less distracted in the front.
3. You can signal to the worship team to stand during the offering.
4. You have a straight shot to the door if needed.
5. Lots of leg room.
6. You can pray for each person that comes up.
7. You have lots of room to worship like a crazy person, because no one is by you. ( almost shouting in songs is fun.)
8. You don't have friends drawing pictures and then showing them to you.
9. You can give an Amen and the pastor is the only one who can hear.
10. No ones feelings are hurt because you won't sit by them.

My only con would be is that when the service is over you turn around and half the people have left and it takes 30 minutes to get through the crowd as you try to get to the one person you need to speak with.

So dear friends I love you much but I had to come to terms with that it was either you are the front row and I chose right.

  1. I love remembering you on the front row when you visited our church in Chat! I could smile, wink, and giggle at you from the choir (except when the flowers got in the way) and you could see me trying to discreetly lift up my hands during the bendiction which made me laugh again! I think the choir is not as good as the fron row though because I get distracted taking attendance, watching who is taking out the crying baby, who is snoring or at least about to get whiplash from a sudden awakening in the pew, etc. I will try to focus more on just worshiping Jesus...the real reason I am there. It is amazing all the places my mind can go except where I want it be and to stay! Can't wait for our altered visions of creativity next weekend!
